SkiTutor, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates kase.land and the KASE Weather service (the "Service"). We respect your privacy and comply with applicable regulations regarding any personal information we collect about you across the Service. This policy does not cover third-party websites we link to, which have their own privacy policies.
When you join the Premium waitlist or purchase Premium, we collect what you enter: name, email address, optional phone number, the plan you're interested in, and, for trip-based plans, the travel dates and flight numbers you choose to share.
Like most websites, our hosting and infrastructure providers keep standard log data: your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, and timestamps. We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages viewed, events such as button clicks, and general location at the city level). While this information may not identify you on its own, it could potentially be combined with other data to do so.
When Premium purchases are live, payments will be processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe; we never receive or store it. We receive from Stripe only what we need to run your plan: your name, email, plan, and payment status.
The dashboard fetches weather and flight data from U.S. government services (such as aviationweather.gov) and from our own proxy server on Cloudflare. Like any web request, those requests include your IP address as a matter of how the internet works. We do not use them to identify you.
We collect personal information only when we have a lawful reason to, we collect only what we need, and we do not sell it to anyone.
If you provide your phone number, we use it only to send the KASE Weather alert texts you opted into. We do not sell phone numbers or share them for others' marketing. Reply STOP to any text to opt out. Our SMS provider processes numbers on our behalf as described below.
A cookie is a small piece of data that a website stores on your device and reads on later visits. We use cookies set by Google Analytics to understand site usage, and browser local storage for functional preferences (such as remembering settings on the dashboard). You can decline or clear cookies in your browser settings; the dashboard works without them.
We may also disclose personal information to professional advisers, to courts, regulators, or law enforcement where required by law, and to an acquiring entity if our business or assets are transferred (in which case the acquirer must honor this policy).
We protect personal information within commercially acceptable means. That said, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above: waitlist and subscriber contact details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and transaction records as long as law requires (for example, for accounting). When information is no longer required, we delete it or anonymize it.
The Service is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
To exercise any of these, email support@kase.land. We may need to verify your identity. If we cannot resolve a complaint, you may contact your local data protection regulator.
SkiTutor, LLC is the data controller for the personal information you provide. We process it on these lawful bases: your consent (marketing; withdrawable at any time), performance of a contract (delivering a plan you bought or responding to your inquiry), our legitimate interests (operating and improving the Service), and legal compliance. You additionally have rights to restrict or object to processing, to data portability (a machine-readable copy of the data you gave us), and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in the UK, the ICO at ico.org.uk). Our infrastructure is in the United States; where data is transferred from the EEA or UK, we rely on our providers' standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.
In the last 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 1 (identifiers such as name, email, phone, IP address, and usage data), from the sources and for the purposes described above. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA/CPRA. California residents may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold, the sources, purposes, and any recipients, and may request deletion; we will not discriminate against you for doing so. Submit requests to support@kase.land with "Privacy Rights Request" in the subject line. We do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals; the protections in this policy apply regardless.
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. Updates are posted at this same address with a new "Last updated" date. Where the law requires, we will give you the chance to opt in or out of material new uses.
